Unlocking Positive Potential 🌟

On the subject of ... Positivity

Sweaty & Happy

Have you ever been asked to do something so exciting, yet scary, that you thought you'd either burst with happiness or pass out from nerves all at once?

This last weekend I spoke to the National Charity League of Northwest Arkansas on the topic of Promoting Positivity.

I think I was sweatier than at the end of a cardio class, pits, hands, and all!

Positivity in Practice

To be honest ... it was harder to stand in one spot and speak than lead a workout. But I put on my big girl pants, prepped, practiced, and then spoke from my heart.

🤪 Funny story...I was under the impression I'd have the opportunity to speak to both moms and their teen daughters, but when I got to the event I realized it was just the mommas. Gotta love guest speaker miscommunication.

I had prepped a 30-minute talk to the mom-daughter duos in the room, oops! Would you believe it ended up for the best?

Before they introduced me I had a mental chat with myself (practice positivity) and figured out how I could pivot my speech. I was able to share more in depth about my negative upbringing. I felt the freedom to go into greater detail about the years my sister and I were body-shamed and abused physically & emotionally.

5 Positive Ways to Take Action

Becoming a positive woman takes practice!

Similar to how we move our bodies to stay physically strong, the key to becoming an optimistic, cheerful, hopeful, joyful individual is to be mindful of our thoughts, actions, and words to ourselves & others.

Here is what I shared with the women on Sunday that I hope you'll put into practice as well.

  1. 🤪 Improved Mental Health: A positive outlook reduces stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms.
  2. 💛 Enhanced Relationships: Positivity fosters understanding, patience, and empathy.
  3. 😵 Better Work Performance: A positive attitude enhances focus, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
  4. 😌 Healthy Body Image: Embracing positivity can lead to a healthier self-perception, promoting self-love and acceptance.
  5. 😁 Greater Life Satisfaction: Positivity allows individuals to appreciate the small joys of life, practice gratitude, and find meaning in their daily activities

Happy March!! 🌸 I don't know about you, but the warmer weather is bringing my heart so much happiness. Even if "winter weather" is giving us the side eye & eyebrow raise, this past week has felt glorious outside!! Spring is around the corner and so are 8pm sunsets 👏 Sweet Story!! At the beginning of 2024 I was approached by Celebrate Magazine of NW Arkansas. They told me their March issue would focus on highlighting women in the community making a positive difference. Then they asked if they...

Goodbye January, Hello February! Why do we LOVE February? Cause it's short and sweet 💘🍫 Sometimes I make mom jokes and occasionally they are funny. So, my family was A-OK saying hasta-la-vista to January. 👋 Besides the cold dark days of winter and endless at-home icy school days, I came down with a head cold that tested every ounce of my patience and is still somehow lingering!! Meanwhile my husband battled several kidney stones 🙅🏻♂️ I think we ALL need something exciting to look forward to,...
