The Myth of "It's Too Late"

Published about 1 year ago • 1 min read

Your Brain vs Your Desires

Have you ever embraced this defeating thought? 🤯

If you are alive and breathing then you 100% have. You've fallen into the common trap of thinking 'nevermind, it's too late.' This is normal in our busy world and your brain is honestly just doing its job.

Your mind is trying to protect you from damage or defeat but it can keep you from powerful growth. The truth is ...

It is never too late to take a healthy first step!

Repeat after me, it's never too late. It's never too late. 🙅🏻‍♀️

When I was fresh out of college, I had dreams of moving to Los Angeles and getting into the film industry. I wanted to be on big screens. I thought that was the only path I could take. Fast-forward to my 30s and I started teaching classes at my local gym. It was then ten years later I started filming videos for B•TRIBAL•FIT. Now I'm lucky enough to be on hundreds of big screens every week.

When it comes to your life & health, it is never too late.

Instead, identify ONE small area and take ONE step. 🏃‍♀️

Decide if it's your mental, physical, or relational health.

You won't have all the answers or the mental safety of knowing the outcome. However, you will have momentum. Make 1 vulnerable phone call to a friend. Prep 1 week of meals. Start day 1 of a 21-day challenge.

Repeat after me, it's never too late. It's never too late.

Tip #1: Know that your brain is designed to be protective. Yes, it's scary and you might not finish everything you start. Your brain is protecting you from embarrassment, defeat, or over-commitment.

Tip #2: Don't believe everything you think. Just because you think it doesn't make it true. You have power over your thoughts and one small step can be life-changing.

Tip #3: Rejecting 'it's too late' is safer than the alternative. Your body, mind, and relationships are worth taking one small step for. You are not living defeated, so don't believe it.

Sign up. Show up. Begin to build the habit. Don't focus on the what if's. Instead reject the defeating thought of it's too late and take one step toward whatever you've been ignoring for too long.

Happy March!! 🌸 I don't know about you, but the warmer weather is bringing my heart so much happiness. Even if "winter weather" is giving us the side eye & eyebrow raise, this past week has felt glorious outside!! Spring is around the corner and so are 8pm sunsets 👏 Sweet Story!! At the beginning of 2024 I was approached by Celebrate Magazine of NW Arkansas. They told me their March issue would focus on highlighting women in the community making a positive difference. Then they asked if they...

Goodbye January, Hello February! Why do we LOVE February? Cause it's short and sweet 💘🍫 Sometimes I make mom jokes and occasionally they are funny. So, my family was A-OK saying hasta-la-vista to January. 👋 Besides the cold dark days of winter and endless at-home icy school days, I came down with a head cold that tested every ounce of my patience and is still somehow lingering!! Meanwhile my husband battled several kidney stones 🙅🏻♂️ I think we ALL need something exciting to look forward to,...
