3 Tips for the Fall Food Season

Comfort Food 🍞

Well, the daylight hours are beginning to shrink and the chilly nights have started to find their way into my home. Whenever this happens, it makes me immediately want to run for the warm and comfortable.

Is anyone else with me? 🖐🏼

As we head into the Fall Food Season, I want to be a healthy voice in your life to keep reminding you that there are so many proactive choices you can make on a daily basis.

Yes, it gets more challenging this time of year as we start to crave more warm carbs in our lives. I'm sure you're more strapped for time too, as the Fall schedule is running at high speed.

3 Quick Tips: How To Make Your Fall Food Season Healthier...

  1. As always, purchase 75% of your food along the outside edge of the grocery store. This is the part of the store that sells the majority of the food that was grown outdoors. It's better for you.
  2. Fill your pots and meals with protein-dense foods instead of carb fillers. More quinoa, beans, and vegetables. Fewer chips, noodles and muffins. The term "Fall Harvest" comes from the time of year when so many veggies are at their best!
  3. Don't make every meal a big one. Fall is full of amazing gatherings with our friends and family. When you know that you'll be eating out with friends or hosting at home with a bigger menu, be intentional with the 2-3 meals you have before gathering with everyone.

I do love Fall 🍂 and the changes it brings. I'm trying hard this year with my family to be as healthy with our food as possible and want to encourage the same for you as well!

Happy March!! 🌸 I don't know about you, but the warmer weather is bringing my heart so much happiness. Even if "winter weather" is giving us the side eye & eyebrow raise, this past week has felt glorious outside!! Spring is around the corner and so are 8pm sunsets 👏 Sweet Story!! At the beginning of 2024 I was approached by Celebrate Magazine of NW Arkansas. They told me their March issue would focus on highlighting women in the community making a positive difference. Then they asked if they...

Goodbye January, Hello February! Why do we LOVE February? Cause it's short and sweet 💘🍫 Sometimes I make mom jokes and occasionally they are funny. So, my family was A-OK saying hasta-la-vista to January. 👋 Besides the cold dark days of winter and endless at-home icy school days, I came down with a head cold that tested every ounce of my patience and is still somehow lingering!! Meanwhile my husband battled several kidney stones 🙅🏻♂️ I think we ALL need something exciting to look forward to,...
